A Lansing man was taken to the hospital after he crashed into an embankment in eastern Leavenworth County, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 7:25 p.m. Saturday at Kansas 5 Highway and Tontine Road.

An 88-year-old man had been driving north on K-5 in a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. He lost control of the vehicle while attempting to negotiate a curve, according the report from the KHP.

The driver was taken to Saint John Hospital to be treated for injuries.
