A Tonganoxie man was sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for sexually abusing a child, according to a news release from the county attorney.

A Tonganoxie man was sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for sexually abusing a child, according to a news release from the county attorney.

Jesus Rodriguez-Fernando, 35, was sentenced Friday in Leavenworth County for two counts of attempted aggravated criminal sodomy and one count of aggravated indecent solicitation of a child. He was sentenced to 362 months, or 30 years and two months, in prison, according to the release from County Attorney Todd Thompson.

The crimes occurred in February and March.

Rodriguez-Fernando pleaded guilty to the charges Sept. 15.

The judge imposed the aggravated sentence for each count Friday and ordered the sentences to run consecutive, according to the news release.
