A Leavenworth woman has been convicted of battering another woman, according to a prosecution official.

Amanda Lee Gross, 34, was convicted Monday following a trial in Leavenworth County District Court.

Charges were filed after the victim went to Gross’ house Feb. 12 to talk to her about a situation involving their children. The children reportedly had been involved in a fight earlier in the day, according to a news release from County Attorney Todd Thompson.

Gross reportedly ran out of the house and punched the victim three to four times in the face. Gross then followed the victim to her car, hitting her two more times.

The victim suffered multiple injuries including a broken orbital bone, a nasal fracture and laceration on the upper lip that required stitches. She also had to have a tooth extracted.

Sentencing in the case is scheduled for Dec. 13.
