A man who was trying to sell a PlayStation 4 in Leavenworth was robbed of the video game system by a man in a clown mask, a police spokesman said.

The incident was reported at 8:52 p.m. Tuesday in the 2900 block of Ralph Bunche Drive.

The victim apparently had set up the sale of a PlayStation 4 on the internet. A meeting was arranged with a buyer on Ralph Bunche Drive, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

The victim, who was accompanied by two friends, met with a woman at that location. The robber came around the corner of a building. He was wearing a mask and brandished a handgun.

"The female took off running," Nicodemus said.

The robber reportedly took the PlayStation 4 with one controller and a couple of games. He reportedly fled on foot in the same direction as the woman.

The robber was described as a black man who is about 6 feet tall and has a thin build. He was wearing a red short-sleeved shirt. He also was wearing a clown mask that was similar in appearance to the face of a character from the movie "It."

The woman was described as a black woman who wore a red jacket and black sweatpants.

Nicodemus said police searched for the robber and woman but were unable to locate them.
