Authorities are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting in Leavenworth, a police spokesman said.

The incident was reported shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 2500 block of Maple Ave. No injuries were reported.

Leavenworth Police Chief Pat Kitchens said officers responded to a report of shots being fired into a house. Police determined that at least two rounds penetrated the exterior walls of the house and went into a living room and dining room area.

“The officers are still investigating it,” Kitchens said.

A 31-year-old man who was inside the home at the time of the shooting was taken into custody for unrelated arrest warrants.

A woman and two young children also were in the home at the time of the shooting, Kitchens said.
