Four people were arrested as a result of a search for narcotics Wednesday at a Leavenworth residence, according to a Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Members of the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office Tactical Assistance Group served a search warrant at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 600 block of South Broadway.

During the search, authorities found a quantity of methamphetamine that Undersheriff Jim Sherley said is larger than what a person likely would have on hand for personal use. He said the quantity was consistent with sales of the drug.

Authorities also seized cash, two rifles, two handguns, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

A 38-year-old woman, a 42-year-old man, a 36-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were arrested for alleged drug offenses.

A 40-year-old man who was inside the residence was released. A 16-year-old girl who also was in the residence was released to her grandparents, Sherley said.
