The case of a woman accused of murdering her estranged husband in Leavenworth has been bound over for trial, according to a prosecution official.

The case of a woman accused of murdering her estranged husband in Leavenworth has been bound over for trial, according to a prosecution official.

Barbara M. Frantz, 51, Kansas City, Kansas, was bound over for a charge of first-degree murder. The decision to bind over the case came at the conclusion of a preliminary hearing in Leavenworth County District Court that lasted for much of the day on Tuesday.

Frantz is accused of shooting her estranged husband, Gary, Jan. 27, 2017, in a Leavenworth parking lot.

The judge has scheduled a jury trial in the case for March 19, according to County Attorney Todd Thompson.

Frantz remains in custody at the Leavenworth County Jail.
