A Christmas morning shooting in Leavenworth that resulted in a man's death remains unsolved, according to a police spokesman.

“We're still working on it,” said Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

Police are investigating the death of Shavar A. Walker.

Walker, 33, Kansas City, Missouri, was reportedly shot several times Dec. 25 outside of an apartment complex in the 500 block of Vilas Street following an altercation. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

No arrests have been made. Nicodemus has not commented about possible suspects or a motive for the shooting.

“There's a lot to do,” Nicodemus said.

He said investigators have processed some of the physical evidence. But police are waiting for some of the evidence to be processed by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

Nicodemus said investigators also continue to interview people and track down leads.
