The general contractor in charge of a renovation of Leavenworth’s downtown theater said work on the facility is “on time and on schedule.”

Mike Anders said the plan is to be finished with the renovation of B&B Theatres Leavenworth Landing 5 in 60 days.

“As long as we don’t run into any issues, we should be done by then,” he said. “It’s going to be real close to that.”

B&B Theatres announced in mid-December the acquisition of Leavenworth’s theater, formerly known as Landing 4 Theatre. B&B Theatres is the operating tenant for the new owner, Bramlage Properties of Junction City, Kansas.

Anders said the revamped theater will be “state of the art.”

The remodeled theater will include five screens. Each of the auditoriums will feature leather, electric recliners. The theater will feature a renovated lobby and concession area, renovated bathrooms and a new exterior facade.

The theater also will include a full-service bar where guests can purchase beer, wine and cocktails.

Anders said crews are currently in the demolition stage of the renovation.

“Everything old is coming out and everything new is going in,” Anders said.

New features include curtains, lighting, screens and digital projectors, to name just a few.

This week, he said workers are preparing to install new plumbing and electrical lines in the theater.
