International cuisines, cultures and customs were featured Saturday during Leavenworth High School’s annual International Festival.
International students and families from across the globe showcased food and information about their countries at approximately 30 tables set up in the school gymnasium.
Many of the people at the tables wore authentic apparel from their home countries.
Organizers said the event attracted approximately 400 visitors.
“It was an amazing turnout,” said Leavenworth High School senior Jazmine McBurney, chief organizer of this year’s festival.
Leavenworth High teacher Liz Anstine, program adviser, said attendance increased approximately 30 percent this year.
The event also featured entertainment, including dancing and signing by Power and Life, a Leavenworth High School performance team.
Anstine said the event helps to “create awareness and acceptance” of people from around the world.
