Two months after a fatal Christmas morning shooting in Leavenworth, the homicide remains unsolved, a police spokesman said.

Deputy Police Chief Dan Nicodemus said police have no suspects in the case, but authorities continue their investigation of the death of Shavar A. Walker.

Walker, 33, Kansas City, Missouri, was reportedly shot several times Dec. 25 outside of an apartment complex in the 500 block of Vilas Street following an altercation. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Last month, the Leavenworth Police Department released photographs of a man investigators were wanting to speak with in connection to the shooting. Nicodemus said police wanted to determination what information the man has about the Dec. 25 incident.

Nicodemus said police received a couple of tips about the man in the photographs. But investigators have been unable to identify him.

Nicodemus did not comment about why police believe the unidentified man may have information about the case.

People with information about the shooting can contact Detective Tesh St. John at 913-758-2944. People also can leave anonymous tips by calling at 913-682-CLUE (2583).
