March madness is right around the corner, and the Leavenworth Times is hosting an online College Hoops Bracket Challenge for businesses and individuals.

Businesses can sign up for $149 in this advertising opportunity. Businesses will receive advertising on the bracket page throughout the tournament. Each time a businesses’ team advances, that business gets a free and larger ad. Businesses also receive online advertising on the Times’ website,, and on the official contest page.

“We put together a promotion at the Leavenworth Times for the community to engage in friendly competition in March during the NCAA Tournament,” said Lucas Guevara, marketing/advertising executive at the Times.

The Times will host a party March 12 at Buffalo Wild Wings for businesses, who will randomly pick two teams. One lucky person will win a $50 gift card to Buffalo Wild Wings. Free food and soft drinks will be available.

The business whose team wins the national championship will receive a $100 gift card and a full-page ad in printed edition of the Times.

“We would love to strengthen our relations with local businesses as we build up our viewership, making the Times the primary media source for information and content most relevant to the community,” Guevara said.

Individuals can participate in a free bracket challenge, sponsored by Coldwell Banker Reilly & Sons. The winner receives a $150 gift card.
