A Leavenworth man reported that he woke up to discover his home had been burglarized and his car was missing, a police spokesman said.

The burglary was reported Saturday on Logan Street near Wilson Avenue. The victim believes the burglary took place sometime between the evening of March 15 and Saturday morning, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

"He was home at the time he believes the suspect was in the residence," Nicodemus said.

When the victim woke up Saturday, he first noticed his vehicle was missing. He then noticed that someone broke into his basement and took various items from the home. The missing items included keys, address stickers, paperwork, $288 in coins and a bag of car wash tokens.
