A man was arrested after he allegedly swung a crowbar and started a fire during a dispute with his mother at a Leavenworth residence, a police spokesman said.

A man was arrested after he allegedly swung a crowbar and started a fire during a dispute with his mother at a Leavenworth residence, a police spokesman said.

The incident was reported at 11:08 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of North 13th Terrace.

The suspect, a 26-year-old man, allegedly poured a flammable liquid onto the floor and then started it on fire. There were other people in the residence at the time he allegedly started the fire, said Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

No injuries were reported.

The fire caused minor damage to the floor, Nicodemus said.

The suspect was arrested for allegations of aggravated arson, aggravated assault and criminal damage to property.
