Three people were arrested for drug-related offenses following a traffic stop in north Leavenworth, a police official said.

Three people were arrested for drug-related offenses following a traffic stop in north Leavenworth, a police official said.

The traffic stop occurred at about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of North Broadway.

Leavenworth Police Chief Pat Kitchens said an officer stopped a vehicle because the driver was suspected of being impaired.

Kitchens said suspected drugs were found in the vehicle as well as on people who were inside the car.

Police seized about 65 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine, unlabeled prescription pills and small amounts of suspected marijuana and cocaine. Kitchens said police also seized items associated with drug sales such as scales and empty baggies.

A 65-year-old woman, 46-year-old woman and 56-year-old man were arrested for alleged drug-related offenses. The 65-year-old woman also was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
