A rural Linwood man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of woman who was reported missing last week.

Dan S. Flannagan, 63, is charged in Leavenworth County District Court with intentional second-degree murder, according to County Attorney Todd Thompson.

The charge stems from the death of Constance Perryman.

A family member reported Perryman, 61, missing late Thursday night. Deputies found Perryman's body around 7 a.m. Friday on a rural farm property south of Linwood on 198th Street. It appears she had been shot, according to Leavenworth County Undersheriff Jim Sherley.

Perryman reportedly lived on the property with Flannagan.

Members of the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office continued to investigate the death Friday. Flannagan was arrested around 4 p.m. Friday.

Sherley did not comment about a possible motive for the shooting other than a disagreement at the residence.

Followup investigation is ongoing, according to Sherley.

Flannagan appeared in court Monday. He is next scheduled to be in court Wednesday, Thompson said.
