A woman was taken to the hospital after her vehicle overturned west of Leavenworth, according to an official with the Sheriff's Office.

The crash was reported at 9:17 p.m. Wednesday on Shawnee Road west of 187th Street.

Authorities believe a 19-year-old woman had been driving a 2006 Honda Civic too fast for conditions, according to Undersheriff Jim Sherley.

A window had to be broken at the scene of the crash so the driver could be assisted with getting out of the car.

The driver, who had not been wearing a seat belt, complained of neck pain. She was transported by Leavenworth County EMS to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas.
