A teen was arrested after he and others allegedly kidnapped and robbed a Leavenworth woman, a police official said.

The incident was reported at 1:25 p.m. Monday in the 1700 block of Miami Street.

The Leavenworth Police Department received a report that a group of males was dragging a woman into a house, Police Chief Pat Kitchens said.

While officers were en route to the scene, they were notified that the woman had been able to escape.

"The officers arrived and had contact with the female victim," Kitchens said.

Four suspects had already left the scene.

The chief said there apparently had been a dispute about money between the woman and the suspects. The suspects had gone to the victim's house, seeking repayment.

At one point, the woman reportedly tried to get away but two of the suspects threatened her with a gun. The suspects were unable to obtain money from the woman, so they allegedly took several items from her home and placed them in a vehicle.

One of the suspects, a 17-year-old boy, returned to the scene after police officers had responded to the call. The suspect was arrested for allegations of aggravated robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault.

Inside the suspect's car, police found some of the items that reportedly had been taken from the victim's home.

Kitchens said police have identified the other three suspects but were unable to locate them Monday.
