The Leavenworth Police Department is accepting applications for its annual Summer Camp.

The Leavenworth Police Department is accepting applications for its annual Summer Camp.

The Summer Camp will take place from June 25-29 at Richard W. Warren Middle School, 3501 New Lawrence Road. There is no fee for children to attend the camp, but parents must submit registration forms.

“They're due by June 9,” said Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

The camp is designed for children who will be entering grades four through six in the fall. Nicodemus said the camp will be limited to 50 participants.

He said priority will be given to residents of the city of Leavenworth.

Camp activities will begin at 8:30 a.m. each day and end at 3 p.m.

The camp will include field trips to the Leavenworth Fire Department headquarters and Leavenworth County Justice Center. There also will be a field trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City, Kansas.

The applications can be returned to the Leavenworth Police Department, 601 S. Third St.
