Thieves drove away with four vehicles from a Lansing car dealership, a police spokesman said.

The incident occurred sometime Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning at Speedway Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 555 N. Main St.

The theft of the vehicles was discovered Wednesday after a passerby stopped to look at a car and saw that doors to a building at the dealership were open even though the business was closed, according to Lt. Mike Dickason of the Lansing Police Department.

Dickason said the thieves apparently broke into the building to grab keys, which they used to drive away with the stolen vehicles. One of the four vehicles taken was valued at more than $71,000.

“At this time, we have no suspects,” Dickason said.

He said similar thefts from car dealerships have been reported in the region.
