A preliminary hearing for a man accused of killing his girlfriend in rural southern Leavenworth County has been continued for about two weeks, according to court records.

The hearing for Dan S. Flannagan was scheduled for Thursday in Leavenworth County District Court. But the hearing has been rescheduled for July 18 because the judge who handles the criminal docket is presiding over a jury trial in another case.

Flannagan, 63, is charged with intentional second-degree murder in connection to the shooting death of Constance Perryman.

Perryman’s body was found April 6 on property located off of 198th Street south of Linwood.

Flannagan was Perryman’s live-in boyfriend, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case.

Evidence will be presented during the preliminary hearing, and the judge will determine if the case should move forward.

Court records indicate that two hours are being reserved for the July18 hearing.

Flannagan remains in custody at the Leavenworth County Jail.
