A federal inmate has been charged with assaulting another inmate at the U.S. Penitentiary in Leavenworth, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Charles W. Ochlech, 46, was indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury. The crime is alleged to have occurred in April, according to a news release from the office of Stephen McAllister, U.S. attorney for Kansas.

Ochlech remains in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He is currently being housed at the Federal Correctional Institution in Florence, Colorado, according to a BOP website.

He currently is scheduled to be released from prison in August, according to the website.

If convicted, he faces up to 10 more years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000, according to the news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
