A Leavenworth man is facing federal child pornography charges, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

A Leavenworth man is facing federal child pornography charges, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Duane Allen, 54, was indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury. He is charged with one count of distributing child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography, according to the release from the office of Stephen McAllister, U.S. attorney for Kansas.

The indictment alleges Allen used a peer-to-peer network to share child pornography with other users.

If convicted, he faces not less than five years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000 on the distribution charge and up to 10 years and a fine of up to $250,000 on the possession charge.
