Enrollment already has started in some local school districts. And other districts have enrollment days coming up.

Returning elementary students in the Leavenworth school district were able to enroll earlier this week at the elementary buildings. But returning students from all grade levels, as well as new students, will be able to enroll from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday at Leavenworth High School, 2012 10th Ave.

Jake Potter, director of public relations for the district, said parents of returning students may be able to handle enrollment entirely online.

But parents of new students can take advantage of next week's planned enrollment day as well as parents who do not have internet access at home or those wanting assistance with the enrollment process.

The Lansing public schools utilizes online enrollment. Enrollment already has started for new students.

Superintendent Darrel Stufflebeam said parents of returning students will receive an email to notify them when they can start enrolling their children next week.

The Easton public schools is having enrollment this week. Superintendent Tim Beying said parents of returning students can enroll online. Parents of kindergarten students and other new students can visit the Easton Board of Education Office, 32502 Easton Road, today from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Parents in the Basehor-Linwood school district can start enrolling their children today using a district online registration system. Parents who are new to the district can enroll their children online by visiting the enrollment page of the district's website, www.usd458.org, and requesting an online account. But parents also can stop by school buildings Aug. 2 to enroll in person or drop off paperwork, according to Ashley Razak, communications coordinator for the district.

The district's elementary schools will be open Aug. 2 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Basehor-Linwood Middle School and Basehor-Linwood High School will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
