A Leavenworth man reported being stabbed in the arm when he confronted someone who was trying to break into a shed, a police spokesman said.

A Leavenworth man reported being stabbed in the arm when he confronted someone who was trying to break into a shed, a police spokesman said.

The victim's injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The incident was reported shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of North Ninth Street.

The 41-year-old victim reportedly confronted a man trying to break into his shed. An altercation ensued and the victim was stabbed in his right arm.

"The suspect ran off," said Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

The suspect was described as a white man who is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He was dressed in black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt. His face was covered.
