County Clerk Janet Klasinski said the county’s usual poll locations will be open for the election.

Several contested primary races will appear on ballots for Republicans and Democrats in Leavenworth County including primary races for governor.

Republican voters also will be choosing a nominee for Congress. And there are several contested primary races in Leavenworth County for the Kansas House of Representatives and County Commission.

Klasinski, who is the chief election officer for the county, is predicting a 20 percent voter turnout in Leavenworth County for today’s election.

Voting results from Leavenworth County will be posted on the county government’s website, www.leavenworthcounty.org

Klasinski said the results from advance ballots should be posted to the website by 7:30 p.m. Other results will be posted as they become available.

Winners of the primary races will advance to the Nov. 6 general election.
