A man was taken to the hospital after his vehicle overturned Wednesday in southern Leavenworth County, according to a spokesman for the Sheriff's Office.

A man was taken to the hospital after his vehicle overturned Wednesday in southern Leavenworth County, according to a spokesman for the Sheriff's Office.

The crash was reported at 1:01 p.m. at Linwood Road and 238th Street.

The driver, a 44-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, suffered injuries to his head and abdomen. He was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas.

The driver allegedly did not have an ignition interlock device in his vehicle as he was required, according to Leavenworth County Undersheriff Jim Sherley.

The driver allegedly refused to take a preliminary breath test at the scene.

He was cited for allegations related to the ignition interlock requirement as well as driving without a valid license, texting and driving, not wearing a seat belt and failing to maintain a lane of traffic.
