An armed man robbed a Leavenworth liquor store, taking only bottles of liquor, a police spokesman said.

The robbery was reported at 10:25 p.m. Monday at 10th Avenue Liquors, 5111 10th Ave.

The man reportedly entered the store, picked up several bottles of liquor and placed them on the counter.

After the bottles had been bagged, the man reportedly pulled out a handgun, showing the weapon to the clerk. The suspect then left the store with the bottles, said Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

The gun was not fired and no injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as a white man who is probably in his late 30s or early 40s.

“We have some video we’re going through,” Nicodemus said.
