Authorities have developed suspects in two recent robberies in Leavenworth, a police spokesman said.

Police do not believe the robberies, which were reported a day apart, are connected.

The first robbery was reported at 4:28 p.m. Wednesday at Hawthorn Park, 1100 Ohio St.

The victim told police he had gone to the park to purchase drugs. He met the two suspects in a restroom.

The victim reported that the two men produced handguns and robbed him, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

Among the items taken were a backpack, computer, wallet and cash.

The second robbery was reported at 7:07 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Pawnee Street.

Two victims reported that they met with the suspect to purchase a car that was advertised on Craigslist.

The suspect stated he had a gun, but he never displayed a firearm. He took a bag, miscellaneous tools and other items from the victims.

“The suspect ran on foot,” Nicodemus said.
