The driver of a minivan was taken to the hospital after the vehicle overturned several times in northern Leavenworth County, according to an official with the Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of a minivan was taken to the hospital after the vehicle overturned several times in northern Leavenworth County, according to an official with the Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported 5:59 p.m. Friday at U.S. 73-Kansas 7 Highway and Roe Road.

A 47-year-old man was driving south on U.S.73-K-7 in a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country. The vehicle went onto the shoulder of the roadway. The driver overcorrected, and the vehicle went off of the roadway at a curve, according to Undersheriff Jim Sherley.

The vehicle rolled over several times and damaged a barbed wire fence and road sign before coming to rest.

The driver was transported to University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas.
