A city of Lansing music series resumes Saturday at Lansing Lumber, 211 Main St.

BQ Ocean Blu will be the headline performers of the concert. They will perform from 2-4 p.m. Saturday.

BQ Ocean Blu is comprised of four young men from Texas who perform blues and rock music.

The concert begins with a performance from Eric Nelson, a Lawrence artist who plays country, rock and folk music from 10 a.m. to noon.

The next performer is Rachel Louise Taylor, an artist from Topeka. She is a rising young country singer and will perform from noon to 2 p.m.

This is the most recent in a series of Lansing City Limits events. The first was last fall at the Leavenworth Golf Club. In June, the series was held at Ichiban Japanese Restaurant in Lansing.

Food will be available for purchase. The food vendor will be Cowboy Prairie Dust, a barbecue outfit from Meriden, Kansas.

The event will also feature a builders’ flea market at the lumber yard throughout the day.

The Lansing Citywide Garage Sale also will be taking place Friday and Saturday at homes throughout the city.

Lansing City Limits will be held in the run-up to another big event in the city – Lansing Fall Festival. That event will be held Oct. 13 at Angel Falls Trail in Lansing.

“We do these events to create a low-cost event that helps promote local business,” said Tim Dossey, a representative of community and economic development for the city of Lansing. “It’s a grassroots way of promoting the city of Lansing.”

Lansing City Limits has been held twice each year. Dossey said there is a discussion to host the event three times next year.
