Two local high schools will be having homecoming football games Friday. And the University of Saint Mary will have a homecoming game Saturday.

Leavenworth High School will be having homecoming activities throughout the week. Students are encouraged to dress according to daily themes. The theme for Monday was tropical day.

The Leavenworth High School Alumni Association will be sponsoring a hot dog dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday by the concession stand at Pioneer Stadium, according to information posted on the high school’s Facebook page.

This will be followed by a powder puff football game sponsored by the Leavenworth High School senior class. The game will begin at 7 p.m.

At 8 p.m. Thursday, the Alumni Association will be sponsoring a homecoming bonfire. The bonfire will take place at the northwest corner of the high school campus.

The Leavenworth homecoming parade will take place at 2 p.m. Friday in the downtown area.

The parade will begin at Seventh and Cherokee streets. The parade will proceed north on Seventh, turning east on Delaware Street. The parade will proceed east to Esplanade Street, according to a flier for the event.

An all years reunion tailgate event will begin at 5 p.m. Friday in the southeast parking lot of Leavenworth High School.

The homecoming football game will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Pioneer Stadium. The Leavenworth Pioneers will be taking on the Lansing High School Lions.

A homecoming dance is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday at Leavenworth High School, according to the school’s Facebook page.

Basehor-Linwood High School will have a powder puff football game at 7 p.m. today, according to Ashley Razak, communications coordinator for Basehor-Linwood schools.

The Basehor-Linwood High School homecoming parade will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday in Basehor.

The parade will begin at Holy Angels Catholic Church. The parade will proceed to Basehor-Linwood High School.

People wanting to register entries for the parade should contact the Basehor-Linwood High School office at 913-724-2266 no later than Wednesday.

The Basehor-Linwood homecoming game will begin at 7 p.m. at the high school. The Basehor-Linwood Bobcats will take on the Turner High School Golden Bears.

The University of Saint Mary will have a tailgating event for its homecoming football. The tailgating festivities will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the university campus. There is a tailgate fee of $5 per person, according to the university’s website.

The football game will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The Saint Mary Spires will take on the Sterling College Warriors.
