A driver was taken to the hospital following a collision in the Basehor area, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.

A driver was taken to the hospital following a collision in the Basehor area, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 3:40 p.m. Monday at U.S. 24-40 and 166th Street.

A 63-year-old Leavenworth man was driving north on 166th Street in a 2015 Freightliner truck. He allegedly pulled out in front of a 2001 Chevrolet sport utility vehicle that was traveling west on U.S. 24-40, according to the report.

The SUV struck the middle axle of the truck. The truck then spun and struck a 2016 Ford van that was stopped at a stop sign.

The 20-year-old St. Louis man who was driving the SUV was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas, according to the report.

The truck driver was not injured. The van’s driver, a 22-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, man, also was not injured.
