A Tonganoxie man is facing federal drug charges, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Thomas Vanlerberg, 60, has been indicted by a federal grand jury. He is charged with one count of distributing methamphetamine and one count of possessing methamphetamine. The crimes are alleged to have occurred Feb. 1, 2017, in Leavenworth County, according to the release from the office of Stephen McAllister, U.S. attorney for Kansas.

If convicted, Vanlerberg faces not less than 10 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $10 million for each count.
