Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Leavenworth sandwich shop.

The robbery was reported at 3:27 p.m. Wednesday at Subway, 1700 10th Ave.

A woman reportedly entered the restaurant and displayed a handgun. She demanded money, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

The woman was given about $60. She left the store on foot. No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as a heavyset white woman who is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall. Her hair color was described as dirty blond.

The suspect wore a black hat with a red “KC” logo and a black hooded sweatshirt.
