A Leavenworth man reportedly suffered a knife wound during an argument over drugs, a police spokesman said.

A Leavenworth man reportedly suffered a knife wound during an argument over drugs, a police spokesman said.

The incident was reported at 7:28 a.m. Saturday after the victim, a 24-year-old man, went to the hospital. The incident is said to have occurred in the 1300 block of Third Avenue.

The victim and the suspect had become involved in a physical altercation.

“The suspect pulled out a knife,” said Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

The victim reportedly grabbed a glass bottle.

During the fight, the victim was cut on his right forearm, according to Nicodemus.

Police located the suspect, 36-year-old man, at the scene where the altercation reportedly occurred. He was arrested for an allegation of aggravated battery.
