A man who apparently thought he was going to sell a tablet computer in Leavenworth ended up being robbed of the computer, a police spokesman said.

The incident was reported at 11:47 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of North Third Street.

The victim, a 24-year-old man, had made arrangements to sell the computer. He met with the suspect, who was the supposed buyer.

The suspect, who was seated in a vehicle, reportedly demanded that the victim hand over the computer. The suspect mentioned that he had a handgun, and the victim saw a gun on the floorboard of the suspect’s car, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

The suspect grabbed the computer and drove off at a high rate of speed.

Nicodemus said police are working to identify the suspect.
