When they met Monday, members of the Leavenworth Board of Education approved more than $4-million worth of construction bids for a district athletic complex as well as change orders at Anthony Elementary School.

The projects are part of a $57.8-million bond issue that was passed last year by voters.

Board members voted unanimously Monday to accept a $4-million package of bids for the athletic complex, which already is under construction behind Leavenworth High School.

Mike Vieux, senior project manager for JE Dunn Construction, said these bids will pay for things such as the construction of buildings at the complex.
