No injuries were reported Wednesday after a wheel came off a car as it traveled on U.S. 73. But the wheel caused damage to two other vehicles on the roadway, according to a report from the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash was reported at 4 p.m. Wednesday north of Kansas Highway 192.
A Leavenworth man was traveling south on U.S. 73 in a 1978 Chevrolet Camaro when the front driver-side tire and rim came off the vehicle. The tire struck a 2007 Dodge Caravan, which was traveling north on the highway. The tire then struck a 2005 Lexus RX330, which was traveling behind the Camaro, according to the report.
All three vehicles were towed from the scene.
