Two people were taken to the hospital following a crash Friday in northern Leavenworth County, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 1:17 p.m. Friday at Santa Fe Trail and Lowemont roads.

A 61-year-old Easton woman was driving north on Lowemont Road in a 2006 Hyundai passenger car when she allegedly failed to yield. This caused her vehicle to be struck in the passenger side by a 1982 Ford truck that was traveling west on Santa Fe Trail Road, according the report.

The woman, who had been wearing a seat belt, was taken to Cushing Hospital to be treated for injuries. The 43-year-old Easton man who was driving the truck was transported by private vehicle to the Eisenhower VA Medical Center for what was described as a possible injury. He also had been wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
