In the wake of recent burglaries, members of the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office are asking people to report things that don’t look right in their neighborhoods.
“The more information we get, the better off it is for us,” said Undersheriff Ron Cranor.
In the case of two recent burglaries, suspicious vehicles were spotted at or near the scenes, he said.
Cranor said four or five burglaries have been reported in the county within about a week’s time. He said it doesn’t look like many high dollar items have been taken.
He speculated the number of burglaries has increased because children have started going back to school. The undersheriff said thieves may think they’re now more likely to find empty homes.
