A man was arrested Thursday in northern Leavenworth County after pills reportedly fell from his lap during a traffic stop, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Office.
The pills were identified as prescription drugs, and the 24-year-old Leavenworth man reportedly did not have a prescription for them.
The incident was reported shortly after midnight Thursday at U.S. 73 and 195th Street.
The man was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by a sheriff’s officer. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for unrelated charges, according to the report.
When the passenger got out of the vehicle to switch to the driver’s seat, the three pills fell from his lap to the roadway, according to he report.
The man was arrested for an accusation of possession of depressants.
