The Leavenworth-Lansing Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the first state legislative update at 4 p.m. Friday at the Carnegie Arts Center, 601 S. Fifth Street.

Members of the Leavenworth County state delegation will be in attendance.

This forum is the first in a series of three events to be held during the 2010 state legislative session.

“This is your opportunity to discuss those issues that impact you the most,” said Tim Holverson, executive vice president for the chamber, said in a news release. “Certainly this is a pivotal year in closing the budget deficit and several options are being discussed. Much of the talk has centered around school finance, and on tax increases.”

The legislative update series is sponsored by AT&T.

Cost for Friday’s event is $10, which includes hors d’ Oeuvres and refreshments, and it is open to the general public. To sign up, contact the chamber office at 682-4112 or by e-mail at Linda@LLChamber.com.
