The Leaveworth Department of Parks and Recreation will be presenting the “Let’s Dance” dance competition on March 20.
The competition is open to city of Leavenworth and Fort Leavenworth residents only. The competition is divided into four age brackets: Sixth through eighth grade, ninth through 12th grade, 18 to 25 years of age and those over the age of 25 years.
Contestants may perform either a single dance or a partner dance routine. Erotic or sexual movements will not be tolerated in the routine. All contestants must register free of charge in person before 5 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Riverfront Community Center, 123, S. Esplanade in Leavenworth.
Auditions will begin at 3 p.m. on Feb. 28. Auditions will be one minute in length. Contestants must provide their own music CD. Three people will be selected by judges from each of the 12 people auditioning in each age bracket to continue on to “Let’s Dance.” One winner from each age bracket will be selected by judges.
