Leavenworth County recently announced it will host its next public H1N1 flu clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until the vaccine supplies are exhausted Nov. 9 at the Leavenworth County Health Department, 500 Eisenhower Road in Leavenworth.
There will be no cost to receive the vaccination at this clinic and this clinic is only open to residents of Leavenworth County.
Groups or individuals that are eligible to receive the vaccine at this clinic include pregnant women, people who live with or provide care for infants younger than 6 months of age such as parents, siblings and daycare providers, health care and emergency medical services personnel who have direct patient contact and people between the ages of 6 months through 24 years of age.
All individuals requesting vaccination at this event must be in one of the priority groups listed above.
The nasal spray vaccine will be administered to healthy individuals, not pregnant and age appropriate, between 2 and 49 years old who meet one of the priority groups specified above while supplies last.
Pregnant women and children between 6 months and 2 years of age and people older than 49 years of age are not eligible for the nasal spray vaccine and will receive an injectable dose.
