Enrollment for all grades of the Leavenworth public schools will be held at Richard W. Warren Middle School, 3501 New Lawrence Road.
Enrollment for Leavenworth High School will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 10 and 11 and from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 12.
Enrollment for students in kindergarten through the eighth grade will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Aug. 12, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 13 and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 14.
Residents should bring the following items to enrollment:
Proof of Residency (Must be a water, gas or electric bill, lease agreement — no other bills or statements will be accepted. Proof of residency is required to ensure students attend the correct school.)
Immunization Record (Students will not be allowed to start school unless all immunizations are up to date.)
Physical (for those new to the district and 9 years old and younger)
Official birth certificate (for those new to the district)
Back to School Night is planned for Sept. 1. A schedule for the event will be provided at enrollment.
The first day of school will be Sept. 7. This will be a full day of classes.
The planned school day hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for elementary schools, from 8:10 a.m. to 3:25 p.m. for the intermediate and middle schools and from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. for the high School. These hours are unofficial and have not been approved by the Leavenworth Board of Education. The official school hours will be posted on the school district Web site, www.usd453.org, once they’re finalized.
Sports physicals will be held during enrollment. They’ll be provided by local doctors for $20 each. Appointments are required. Please call 684-1400.
Appointments for high school students can be scheduled between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Aug. 10 and 11.
Appointments for Warren Middle School students can be scheduled between 1 and 3 p.m. Aug. 12 and 2 and 4 p.m. Aug. 14.
Pre-packaged school supplies will be offered at enrollment at a cost equivalent to those purchased in local stores. Parents can pay for them at enrollment and the supplies will be delivered to the schools for Back to School Night.
