A woman was in the hospital, and a man was in jail following a stabbing Thursday morning in Leavenworth.

The incident was reported around 10 a.m. in the 1200 block of Kingman Street.

“We’re still sorting through all of the details,” Leavenworth Police Chief Pat Kitchens said Thursday afternoon.

He said a 42-year-old woman was stabbed once in the midsection. Police arrested a 44-year-old man for an allegation of aggravated battery as a result of the stabbing.

Kitchens said he does not believe the woman’s injuries are life-threatening.
