As a group of new students began a 10-month long course at the Command and General Staff College, a member of Congress stressed the importance of working together.

“We’re in this world together,” said U.S. Rep. Leonard Boswell, D-Iowa.

He spoke Monday during an opening day ceremony for the CGSC class at Fort Leavenworth.

The ceremony included a roll call of nations in which international military students from the new class posted their nations’ flags on a stage at the Lewis and Clark Center. One of the U.S. officers in the class also posted the American flag.
