Woman injured in bicycle-car collision

A woman was taken to the hospital after her bicycle collided with a car Saturday morning in Leavenworth, a police spokesman said.

The crash was reported at 10:38 a.m. Saturday at Spruce Street and 10th Avenue.

A 74-year-old Leavenworth woman was driving east on Spruce Street in a 1990 Oldsmobile 88 Royale. She made a right turn in front of a 33-year-old Fort Leavenworth woman who was traveling east on a bicycle.

This resulted in the collision, according to Maj. Robert Smith, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
