Teacher allegedly kicks student

A Leavenworth High School student has reported that he was kicked by a teacher, according to a police spokesman. The incident was said to have occurred around 9 a.m. Jan. 26 in a classroom at the high school, 2012 10th Ave.

Maj. Robert Smith, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department, said it appears a teacher was trying to stop “horseplay.”

The teacher, a 49-year-old man, allegedly kicked a 17-year-old boy in the buttocks area, according to Smith.
